The department of Land Revenue & Disaster Management would like to clarify that the name of assumed fake COI Holders being reported by some organization in social media has not been provided by the department to the RTI Forum as claimed by certain section of people.
In this connection the department clarifies that the department had handed over a CD to one Jit Bahadur Chettri S/o Shri G.S. Chettri, r/o Rayong Tinkitam, South Sikkim in response to his RTI application dated 26/08/2013 containing the data of 3,36,043 COI holders which was prepared by the department in the year 2005. The department would like to categorically emphasize that the data provided to the above RTI applicant does not specify any fake or doubtful COI holders.
The department sincerely states that anyone aggrieved by such post on social media may seek the redressal from the concerned person mentioned above as the department has not intended to hurt sentiments of any section of people or community and the onus of such assumption/action lies with the person responsible behind such act.
