Temi Tea launches new products

GANGTOK, 03 Oct: The Secretary Commerce and Industries, PT Euthenpa launched and released the new packets of Temi Tea at his office today.
As per a press release, launching the new tea packets, the Secretary said that the new product is of good quality with an attractive packaging and affordable price. He informed that the State Temi Tea Garden have been successful in getting organic certification which is a historic achievement for the government. He also informed that Temi Orthodox Tea has got the permission for exporting and will now export its product throughout the world.
The Secretary further informed that the state’s famous tea garden was established in 1969 and has since been continuously producing good quality tea. At present the Temi Tea Garden is producing organic tea in a total area of 177.64 Hectare of land, he said. It was further informed that the Temi Tea Estate is also distributing organic tea seedlings to tea growers, the release mentions.
The General Manager, Temi Tea Estate, Ravikumar M informed that five new packets have been launched today giving the product an attractive and new look along with better quality. He also informed that the packaging uses pine wood caddy in 200gms and 100gms. Cheaper compared to other business firms, he informed that these caddies are mainly designed for premium grade tea. The new products are Temi Tea Royal, Temi Tea Magic and Temi Tea Super fine and low priced tea bags.
The launch was also attended by the Director Commerce Industry, LP Barfungpa, Manager Temi Tea Estate, Officers of Industry Department and representative from Himalayan Chia Bari.

Temi Tea first flush receives highest bids in Kolkata auction

GANGTOK, 14 May: Temi Tea fetched the highest price at the auction market in Kolkata on 08 May among all Darjeeling Teas. The first flush of Temi Tea was sent to Kolkata recently for auction conducted electronically by J Thomas Company at Kolkata. The first flush of Temi fetched Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 2,500 range/kg, informs a release issued by Ravi Kumar [General Manager, Temi Tea Estate].
Temi Tea is one of the most preferred Orthodox Black Tea among the tea lovers in India and overseas. Temi Tea gained its popularity due to its consistency in flavour, aroma, taste and the organic nature. Temi Tea Board entrusted on its quality than the quantity.
The Chairman of J Thomas auction house expressed to the management of Temi Tea that the quality of Temi tea may be attributed to the quality of plucking tea leaves and processing methods in the Temi tea factory, an official press release informs.
Since the Temi tea garden received good rainfall in the current season, the production is expected to cross 100 tonnes in the financial year 2013-14, the release adds. At present around 70 % of tea produced by the Temi tea estate were disposed through auction house based in Kolkata and 30% sent to retail market to meet domestic demand.
