GANGTOK, 23 Oct: Denzong Sherpa Association has congratulated two-time EveresterKazi Sherpa and his family for being named as one of the recipients of the Sikkim Khel Ratna award 2014 which is awarded by the Government of Sikkim.
The association has thanked the Government of Sikkim for the award which it has said will further encourage all the young upcoming mountaineers and the Sherpa people who are earning their livelihood from Adventure Tourism in the state and outside.
The association has also expressed gratitude to Manipur Mountaineering & Trekking Association for appointing Everester Kazi Sherpa as their Deputy leader, Technical Climbing for their Everest Expedition 2013 whose sole responsibility was to ensure the successful summit of every climbing member which he efficiently fulfilled.
