NPC RAMARAM AND BULL VI REACH FINALS
NAMCHI, 27 Dec: NPC Ramaram and Bull VI has reached the final of Losoong Festival-2013 Open Volleyball Tournament being held at Maniram Bhanjyang under Namchi Singhithang constituency, South Sikkim. The tournament is organized by Bhutia Basti Vikash Samity, Maniram with the support of President, Maniram Phalidara , Gram Panchayat Unit, Topda Bhutia and financial assistance from Sports department, Namchi.
The first and second semi finals of the tournament were played today at community play ground, Maniram. Both Bull-VI and NPC Ramaram dominated the match and thrashed their opponents. Bull VI beat Tanak 3 sets to1 while NPC Ramaram won their semi-final match by 3 sets to nil as its players borrowed from Patna were unstoppable. The chief guest was President of The Vision of Kewzing, a Kewzing-based NGO, Sonam Gyatso Bhutia.
Topda Bhutia informed media persons that the final match of the tournament will be played on 30 December with area MLA Binod Rai as the chief guest. At total of 16 teams participated in the tournament. The winners will get a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 25,000 whereas the runners up will be rewarded with 15,000 cash and a trophy.
It may be mentioned here that Losoong Festival has been celebrated here for the past 18 years. Mr Bhutia said that this would not have been possible without the support of local people, government and the Sports department.
