Designer Candle Making training in South Sikkim concludes

NAMCHI, 28 Jan [IPR]: The valedictory function of the 5-day Skill Development Programme on Designer Candle Making which was underway at Maniram Village Cultural Bhawan was held on 25 January. The area MLA, Binod Rai was present as the chief guest of the function, accompanied by other guests.
The five-day skill development programme was held from 20 to 24 January at Maniram Village and was participated by 27 persons from Maniram Village and nearby areas. The welcome address was given by general secretary, Maniram Village Tourism, Purna Tamang and the other speakers included Puberun Sarmah, Smita Rai, Abhisek Lama. During the function certificates and moulds to produce Designer Candles were given away to the participants. The programme was organised by NEDFi Namchi Branch under its CSR Initiative.

Batch of 27 completes 5-day training on Designer Candle Making

NAMCHI, 20 Jan: The valedictory function of the 5-day long skill development programme on Designer Candle Making was held on 17 January at Flavours Restaurant, Bhanjyang Road, Namchi, in South Sikkim. The training had begun on 13 January and was taken by 27 enthusiasts from Denchong, Samseybong and Pabong wards of South district.
With Puberun Sarmah from Guwahati as mentor for the training and Smita Rai of Namchi Designer Candles as assistant trainer, the training was organised by NEDFi’s Namchi branch. The valedictory function was jointly presided over Denchong Panchayat President Gyalpo Lepcha, and Rajen Rai, Panchayat Preseident, Pabong Ward, along with other invited guests.
Abhisek Lama, Branch Manager, NEDFi Namchi Branch, delivered the welcome address and explained the objectives of the programme.
Later, wax and moulds were presented to the successful trainees by NEDFi. The trainees will also be provided with marketing support once they start producing quality products, it was informed. The NEDFi Branch Manager further informs that the next batch of similar 5-day training will begin 20 January at Maniram for 25 participants.
