Managing Committee constituted for Khangchendzonga Tourist Village


GANGTOK, 12 July: A Managing Committee has been set up by the state government for the purpose of management of the Khangchendzonga Tourist Village cum Socio Cultural and Amusement Park at Ranka, East Sikkim and chiefly to look over the accounts and expenditure of the enterprise. 
A press release informs that the committee has been established under the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation and is headed by the Secretary, Tourism.
Being a joint venture enterprise, the committee also includes members of the Civil Engineers Enterprises Pvt Ltd (CEEPL).
It has further been notified that for the operation of accounts, the signature of the member secretary, who is the Chief Accounts Officer, Tourism Department, along with a representative of CEEPL will be necessary on all cheques. Furthermore, there can be no expenditure incurred without the approval of the Chairman of the Committee, the release adds.
This is an inter-departmental committee which also includes Controller of Accounts, Finance Department; Chief Engineers, Power Department and Tourism department respectively; SP, East and DC, East.

Managing Committee for Khangchendzonga Tourist Villa, Ranka


GANGTOK, 02 Feb: The Khangchendzonga Tourist Villa cum Socio Cultural & Amusement Park located at Ranka has now got a Managing Committee to for the park management purposes. The Cultural and Amusement Park was finally leased out as a joint venture by the state government, particularly, the Tourism Department to Civil Engineers Enterprises Private Ltd (CEEPL)in October last year after years of languishing.
The Managing Committee is headed by the Secretary, Tourism Department and includes Controller of Accounts of the Finance Department, Chief engineer of CEEPL, the Chief Engineer of the Power department  and also the SP and DC East District. The Chief Accounts Officer, Tourism is the member secretary. The managing committee is informed to have been constituted with the approval of the state government.
It is informed that  for the operation of Accounts the signature of the Member Secretary and a representative of Civil Engineers Private Ltd. (CEEPL)  will be necessary on all cheques. Further it has been directed that no expenditure is to be incurred without the approval of the Chairman.
