GANGTOK, 21 Jan: Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club has booked
its place in the semi-final berth of the ongoing Shaheed Gold Cup Football
Tournament at Kurseong, West Bengal. In the quarter-final match played on Monday,
SHSC defeated Nigerian XI 3-1. Bikash Pradhan, Bhaichung Bhutia and Wangdup
Lepcha scored one goal each for SHSC.
Now, SHSC will be playing the semi-final match against
Kanchenjunga FC, Siliguri on Wednesday.
In its first match of the tournament on 12 January, SHSC
defeated SFC Kalimpong in the tie-breaker. The 20-member SHSC team is accompanied
by coach, Devendra Gurung in the tournament.
