I-Day celebrations begin at Mellidara with football tournament

GANGTOK, 27 July: Celebrations for the 68th Independence Day began at Mellidara today with the kick off of the 5th MLA Challenge Cup for Melli constituency.
The MLA Challenge Cup, conceived by MLA Tulsi Devi Rai in the year 2010, aims at promoting talent of the constituency by providing them a substantial platform to showcase their talents. The tournament also seeks to promote peace and harmony in the society, an official press release informs, adding that the tournament is hosted by different GPUs of the constituency every year.
