GANGTOK, 10 Apr: The Sikkim State Body Building Association [SSBBA] team gave an impressive performance at the 2nd edition of the Mr Himalayan Body Building Championship 2014 held at Town Hall, Kalimpong on 06 April. Tika Ram Pradhan of Sikkim has won the Mr Himalayan title in the Champion of the Champions round of the competition.
Out of four categories in the competition, Sikkim bodybuilders won gold medals in three categories. The gold medalists were Tika Ram Pradhan in 60 kg, Arun Gurung [current Mr Sikkim] in 65 kg and Navin Pradhan in 65 kg and above. Ajay Mangan won bronze in 55 kg category and Pem Dorjee Sherpa also won bronze medal in 65 kg.
Guman Singh Rai stood fourth and Suraj Tamang stood 5th in 65 kgs and above category. The Best Poser trophy was also bagged by Arun Gurung.
A 10-member SSBBA team participated in the championship, which was organized by Kalimpong Gorkha Body Builders & Youth Association. The team was accompanied by Pema Dorjee Bhutia as manager and Birendra Singh as coach. Likewise, SSBBA chief coach, IB Gurung, Robin Pradhan and Sunil Gurung from Sikkim had also served the competition as judges.
The SSBBA has congratulated the team members for totally dominating the championship and encouraged them to continue to perform well.
