GANGTOK, 19 Feb: Manokranti Yogi Gajendra Raj Nembang Limboo has announced plans to undertake a 15-day ‘underground meditation’ here at the SAP Camp at Pangthang from 22 February onwards. He will emerge from his underground confines on 07 March.
The 38-year-old Yogi Nembang hails from Panchthar district of Nepal and has been working with Manokranti Abhiyan for the last 10 years. He completed a 9-day underground meditation in Ilam in Nepal in 2007, his associates inform.
Addressing a press conference today, Yogi Nembang informed that he has received a permit to stay for one year in Sikkim from the Union Home Ministry after he applied to the Indian Embassy in Nepal and the Sikkim Government. He informed that he has already received the permission for this underground meditation in the state from the concerned authorities. It may be recalled that the organization had announced plans for such a retreat quite some time ago, but could not go ahead until permission was processed.
Yogi Nembang informed that he will carry out his meditation in a 9X9 feet space underground for 15 days at the SAP camp premises and will only take one liter of water every day. This spot will be covered by planks, plastic and soil on the top.
“The main motive of this underground meditation is to encourage the young generation and demonstrate that if there is commitment and dedication then anything is possible,” he stated. After this meditation he plans to carry out various activities of Manokranti Abhiyan across the state, he added.
