GANGTOK, 26 Mar: Independent candidate from Arithang
constituency, Rajeney Gurung has assured to address all the issues that
political parties have failed to address till now.
Ms Gurung is an entrepreneur who is running multiple
businesses in Gangtok ranging from garment shops to tours and travel. Top on
her priority list is the provision of safe drinking water supply, proper
sanitation and waste management system, library for children and children
parks. These, she says, have not figured in the agendas of major political
parties in the state.
Expressing hope that people will vote for her based on these
issues she further stated that, “A recreation centre for the young and old is
the need of the hour. We need these infrastructures to redress the genuine
needs of the society”.
She is hopeful that she can deliver and raise these issues in
any forum if voted to power. Ms Gurung will be contesting the Arithang seat
against SDF’s Udai Lama, SKM’s Shyam Sunder Pradhan, Congress’ Gyalpo Tamang,
Md Jamir and Sherap Dorjee Bhutia.
