GANGTOK, 21 Aug: A Screening Committee has been set up for the selection of the next Director General of Police for Sikkim. The present DGP, Jasbir Singh, is due to retire next month.
In this context, a three-member screening committee has been constituted for appointment of the next DGP from police officials of the Indian Police Service belonging to the state cadre. The three-member committee comprises the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and the Secretary, Department of Personnel. Their recommendations will be put up to the state government for approval.
