GANGTOK, 20 Aug: Sangha MLA, Sonam Lama has conveyed his greetings on the occasion of the Nepali Language Recognition Day [Bhasha Manyata Diwas] today.
In a press release, Mr Lama has said that this event is reflective of years of struggle and commitments of all the stakeholders, particularly of the former Chief Minister of Sikkim Nar Bahadur Bhandari, during whose tenure Nepali language was included in the VIIIth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
“I wish that the occasion rejuvenates progress and literary development of Nepali and all other languages of Sikkim,” he adds.
