GANGTOK, 30 Mar: Mohammad Jamir, who had filed nomination
papers as an independent candidate from Arithang, has withdrawn his candidature
citing family pressure as the reason.
While the Sikkim KrantikariMorcha claims that Mr. Jamir
extended support to the SKM candidate of the constituency, he has clarified
that he has not offered his support to any political party. He has further
denied withdrawing his candidature in lieu of monetary benefit from any
political party.
