GANGTOK, 18 June: 30 year old Deepak Darjee of Nimthang,
Lower Nandok, was taken into custody late Wednesday evening on charges of
having attempted to sexually assault a minor. The arrest was effected on the complaint
of the victim’s mother who has alleged that the accused attempted to rape her
10 year old daughter on Monday evening when she was alone at home.

60 year old sexually assault minor, arrested
GANGTOK, 17 May: A 60-year-old man has been arrested on
charges of having sexually assaulted a minor girl in Mangan, North Sikkim.
Mangan Police have registered a case under section 376/ 341/ 342/ 506 IPC r/w
Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 against
the accused, as per Sikkim Police Facebook page. The 7-year-old victim was
forwarded to STNM Hospital for expert opinion while the case is under
investigation.

One arrested on charges of sexual assault
GANGTOK, 24 Jan: One person was arrested by the Singtam police on 23 January for allegedly molesting a 32-year-old deaf woman.
It is informed that on the intervening night of 22-23 January, an unknown person sexually assaulted the victim. During investigation, the Singtam police arrested one suspect Kalzang Dorjee Bhutia [22], resident of middle Pachak, Rangpo, who later reportedly admitted to have committed the crime.
Both the victim and the accused were sent for medical examination to STNM Hopsital and a case under section 457/ 376 [lurking house-trespassing or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment and punishment for rape] of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused at the Singtam Police Station. The case is under investigation.
