GANGTOK, 25 Mar: Groups continue to find new allies with
less than 3 weeks remaining for the state to go to poll. In one such instance,
a group from Kabi-Lungtsok in North Sikkim joined the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha
today. According to an SKM press release, the panchayat of Tingmo Gai Khana
ward, Chay Lhamu Sherpa, joined the SKM along with her 200 supporters.
The release informs that they formally joined the party by
offering khadas to the SKM candidate, Ugen Nedup Bhutia. In her address, Ms
Sherpa stated that she has joined SKM in order to protect the natural resources
of the state.
The release further informs that panchayat of Changey block
under Dzongu, Sonam Thendup Tamang also joined SKM with his 150 supporters on
Monday. It is further informed that 22 houses of Soreong and Timberbong under
Soreong-Chakung constituency have also joined the party.
