GANGTOK, 10 Jan: A case of Unnatural Death [UD] was registered at the Singtam Police Station on 09 January, after a 22 year old woman, Priya Singh, accidentally fell from a three storied building and died. She had been living in Shantinagar with her husband for the past three months.
On 09 January, the husband left for his usual duty at 8 a.m. leaving her at the rented room. Around 2.30 p.m. Mrs. Paruban Khatin [19], wife of Mafujul Sheik noticed that the deceased was standing on the edge of chanti level of the third floor of the building completely focused on her mobile phone. In the process the deceased fell down from the building and landed on the hard surface of the ground.
Accordingly the deceased was evacuated to the Singtam District Hospital by the owner of the building Lomesh Dhungel and neighbours, where she was declared brought dead by the Medical Officer.
