MANGAN, 27 Jan: The North district branch of Renjyong Mutanchi Rong Tarjum [RMRT] held a meeting on Sunday at Mangan to discuss the official inauguration of Bongthing School at Naga Namgor, North Sikkim. The school is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister during the upcoming Janta Mela on 08 February.
The meeting was chaired by North Zilla Upadhyaksha, NT Lepcha. It was decided that a daylong programme featuring Rumfaat, Bree Rumfaat Zung Lee Aal Rumfaat, Bestowing of Lung to new Mun, Padims and Bongthings will be conducted on 07 February.
All six MLAs from the Lepcha community will be invited for this programme and the responsibility of inviting the MLAs and other dignitaries has been entrusted to the RMRT central body. The responsibility making the necessary arrangements for the cultural programmes has meanwhile been shouldered on Namgyal Lepcha.
Likewise, the arrangement for vehicles has been entrusted on Lakching Lepcha while publicity and invitation to local guests has been given to Mika Lepcha. It has also been decided that a review meeting on the same will be held on 03 February at Mangan.
