Justice Jain to be sworn in on Monday

GANGTOK, 27 Sept: Justice Narendra Kumar Jain of Rajasthan High Court will take charge as the next Chief Justice of Sikkim following the retirement of Justice Pius C Kuriakose on 01 October.
Justice Jain is expected to arrive in Gangtok on 29 September and Governor Shrinivas Patil scheduled to administer the oath of office on 30 September at Raj Bhawan, it is learnt.
Justice Jain is the second most senior judge of the Rajasthan High Court and will retire on superannuation upon attaining the age of 62 in October 2014.
Justice Narendra Kumar Jain was born on 8 October, 1952 at Newai, District Tonk, Rajasthan and completed his Bachelors of Law (LL.B) in the year 1977 from University of Delhi.
He was elevated as a permanent Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 2 September 2004. He was nominated as the Administrative Judge on 21 November 2012. He was the Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court from 14 December 2012 to 2 January 2013. He was appointed as the Executive Chairman of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority on 17 January 2013.

Justice Kohli takes oath of office as Chief Justice

GANGTOK, 12 Dec [IPR]: Justice Permod Kohli was formally sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim today. The Oath of Office was administered by Governor Balmiki Prasad Singh at Ashirwad Hall, Raj Bhawan, Gangtok. The Oath Ceremony was also attended by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling along with a host of other dignitaries.

Justice Kohli to be sworn in Sikkim CJ on Monday

GANGTOK, 09 Dec: The Chief Justice designate for the Sikkim High Court, Justice Permod Kohli, is tentatively scheduled to be sworn in on 12 December, 2011, Monday.

Chief Justice Dinakaran puts in his papers

GANGTOK, 29 July: In a development which has been on the anvil for a while now, Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court, Justice PD Dinakaran, submitted his resignation papers to the office of the President of India in New Delhi this evening.
Official sources at the High Court and a close family member of the Chief Justice, confirmed that he submitted his resignation at around 4 p.m. to the office of the President.
