MLA inaugurates CMRHM house at Upper Tintek

REDRH ALLOTMENT ORDERS HANDED OVER TO 20 BENEFICIARIES
MANGAN, 24 July:  The area MLA Tumin-Lingee cum Chief Whip Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia today inaugurated the newly constructed CMRHM house of beneficiary Bikash Giri at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim. Mr Bhutia was present as the chief guest on the day accompanied by BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa, Zilla member, Saraswati Regmi, vice convener East District, Tika Devi Nepal, panchayat members officials from line department and the general public.
Also on the day, a short function on Reconstruction of Earthquake Damaged Reconstruction Houses [REDRH] was held where 20 beneficiaries under BAC Tintek were awarded with allotment order in the first phase.
While delivering his welcome speech, the BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa highlighted that Rs. 2 crore 86 lakh have been disbursed as earthquake damage compensation and informed that now the government has started the construction of damaged houses under REDRH schemes.  The BDO further informed that out of 7972 houses to be constructed in Sikkim under REDRH, 363 houses have been enlisted from BAC Tintek which will be constructed departmentally.
He further added that out of 268 CMRHM houses constructed under BAC Tintek 110 are under construction and 60 houses have already been completed.
Likewise, AE BAC, Phurba Bhutia highlighted about the technical aspects of REDRH where he informed that 605 square feet with two rooms, one kitchen and attached toilet/bathroom will be constructed under this scheme.
In his speech, the chief guest highlighted that the government is doing everything for the people where 516 houses are coming up in Tumin-Lingee constituency along with 419 houses are under REDRH and further appealed that the beneficiaries themselves should monitor and be involved in order to make it a good dwelling house.
He further urged the beneficiaries to cooperate with the department for proper implementation of the scheme and added that people should be thankful to the government.
The MLA reiterated that some miscreants are trying to tarnish the image of Tumin-Lingee and further appealed to all not to get involved with such people who have vested interests.  While highlighting the development being under taken in the constituency, the MLA said that the roads are being regularly upgraded and further added that there will be no electricity problem in the area as the government has proposed to install switch yard in the area.
Also in the function, the four GPUs were provided with a sound system from the Zilla funds. The function concluded with the vote of thanks being delivered by Field Felicitator, Prem Kaushik.

MLA Archery Challenge enters fifth day

CHANGAY SENTI THRASH MONGOLIAN BROTHERS GANGTOK 35-05
MANGAN, 16 Mar:  On the fifth day of the MLA Challenge Cup Archery tournament here at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim which is being organized by Tumin-Lingee Youth Association, Changay Senti went against Mongolian Brothers Gangtok. Changay Senti won the match by 35 points while the opponents scored only 05 points.
Dorjee Bhutia of Changay Senti was awarded the Man of the Match title. The match today was attended by Binod Pandey (Coordinator NHPC) as chief guest and Bhakti Prasad Dhakal (Vice Convener) as a special guest along with ward Panchayat Singbel, HB Chettri and ward Panchayat Pathuk, KB Chettri.
The tournament which started from 12 March has a total of 18 teams participating from across the state.  The final match of the tournament will be played on 02 April.  The match tomorrow will be played between Yangthang Boys and Tathangchen Gangtok.The winners of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and Rs.30,000 to the runner-up team along with trophy.

CASH PRIZE ENHANCED TO RS 50,000 AND RS 30,000 TO WINNER AND RUNNER-UP 
MANGAN, 12 Mar: The Chief Whip cum area MLA Tumin-Lingee constituency, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia today inaugurated the MLA Challenge Cup Archery tournament here at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim who attended the inaugural match as chief guest and BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa was present as special guest.
The inaugural match today was played between Assam Lingzey Church and Assam Lingzey where the latter won the match by 34 points with the opponents scoring only 24 points.  The Man of the Match title was awarded to Pintso Dorjee Bhutia of Assam Lingzey.
Earlier, the cash prize had been fixed as Rs. 30,000 to the winner and Rs. 20,000 to the runner-up team but today the committee members decided to increase the cash prize to Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively. The cash prize was enhanced as a result of contributions from BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa, vice-convener (East Dist), Tika Devi Nepal, Panchayat president, Samdong Kambal GPU, Chura Kumari and ward Panchayat, Tika Devi Pandey.
The tournament is being organized by Tumin-Lingee Youth Association and has a total of 18 teams from across the state participating. The final match of the tournament will be played on 02 April.  The match tomorrow will be played between Seven Star Tadong and IRBn Balutar.
The inaugural match today was also witnessed by Panchayat President Rakdong-Tintek GPU, Denzong Lepcha, Panchayat members of different wards and the general public.

Endangered State bird ‘Munal’ wanders into house at Upper Tintek

GANGTOK, 11 Mar: A Munal, the state bird of Sikkim was found at Upper Tintek in Tumin-Lingee constituency on Saturday.  This endangered species suddenly entered the house of one Kazi Giri at Upper Tintek on Saturday morning at around 8 AM and with the help of his neighbours, Tika Devi Nepal, Sindu Giri, LD Pandey and CB Bhujel, the bird was rescued from the house.
The rescued bird was then handed over to the area MLA, Ugen T Gyatso. It is learnt that the bird of around 4 kg weight was later handed over to the Wildlife Division of the Forest Department on the direction and supervision of the area MLA. The people of the area believe that this male bird had come from the Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary.
The area MLA expressed his happiness over the people of his area rescuing the bird and handing it over to the concerned division. He also expressed that due to the government’s programmes and policies to preserve the state’s rich biodiversity many species of the state, which were at the verge of extinction, are again being spotted. Tumin Lingee Youth Assoc to organise archery tourney in March

MANGAN, 29 Feb:  Tumin Lingee Youth Association is going to organize the MLA archery tournament here at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim from 12 March.  The winner of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.  30, 000 along with trophy and the runner up team will get Rs 20,000, informs a press release issued by the President of the Association.

MLA lays foundation stone of pucca house conversion under CMRHS at Upper Tintek

MANGAN, 10 July:  The area MLA Tumin-Lingee, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia laid the foundation stone for the Chief Minister Rural Housing Mission Scheme at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim yesterday.  The foundation stone of the house belonging to the beneficiary, Chatra Bahadur Dahal, was laid by the MLA to formally launch the “Mission Kutcha House Free State by 2013” in the area. 
A total of 200 kutcha houses from Tumin-Lingee constituency will be replaced with the CMRHMS for which a total of 62 beneficiaries were provided with allotment order on the day at a function held here at BAC Tintek.
