GANGTOK, 30 June: To commemorate the closing of Paryavaran Mahotsav 2014, a plantation drive was carried out near Magi-dara gumpa followed by mass cleanliness drive at Rinchenpong PHC and Kaluk bazaar today.
As per a press release, the programme was led by CF (Territorial), YP Gurung and assisted by ACF (P&S), Tenzing N Bhutia with the full support of SPWD, Police Department, UD&HD, Panchyat, Health Department and bazaar committee.
At the end of the programme, Mr Gurung expressed gratitude to all the participants and requested them to keep their surroundings clean and green. Further he stressed upon the importance of the environment and also assured to put up dustbins at Rinchenpong PHC and Bazaar area, the release mentions.
