Workshop on CCE held at EMRS Gangyap

GANGTOK, 29 Feb: A workshop on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation [CCE] was organized by the Eklavya Model Residential School, Gangyap in West Sikkim at Gyalshing DIET building on 27 February.
A total of 44 participants from 18 schools attended the workshop which focused on co-scholastic areas of CCE such as attitude, values, health etc. District Collector [West], Santa Pradhan, who is also the chairman of EMRS Gangyap, attended the workshop and encouraged the participants to follow the CCE in their respective schools.
The resource person, Priya Sadhu from Delhi explained the CCE through a power point presentation.

Schools directed not to march students to hospitals for Health Certificates

GANGTOK, 10 July:  Parents of government school students have been spared the lengthy process of procuring Medical Fitness Certificates for their wards on their own in pursuance of the CBSE’s Comprehensive Continuous Evaluation programme.
The HRDD Secretary on Friday, directed all the district officials to inform the schools not to allow students to approach the hospitals for “blood grouping” anymore.

Efforts underway to reach regular health check-ups for all students

GANGTOK, 23 June: One of the directions under the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation [CCE], a new education delivery system under implementation since October 2009 at all CBSE affiliated schools all over the country, states, “Healthy body is essential for the healthy growth of mind. Hence the schools are expected to get their students examined by qualified doctors twice in a session. In addition to this general information, physical disabilities and diseases such as defective vision, maintenance of teeth, deafness, long absence due to illness etc. should also be noted.”

Singbel JHS stakeholders meet to discuss CCE implementation

MANGAN, 16 June: A meeting to institutionalize smooth implementation of CCE guidelines was held here at Singbel JHS on 14 June, attended by SMC members, Panchayats, teachers, and guardians.
The ward Panchayat, HB Karki spoke on the new rules as formulated by CCE which have to be followed by the teachers and parents.  He said that the teachers should be well informed about the CCE norms and follow the guidelines accordingly.
He also advised and requested the guardians to apprise themselves about the changing scenario of education and added that all children below the age of fourteen years must sent to the school.
The Headmaster assured that the teachers will follow all CCE norms and also sought cooperation from guardians for the all round development of the children.  New SMC members were also nominated on the day.
