International SAARC Conference on Language & Literature inaugurated

GANGTOK, 27 Oct: The three-day International SAARC Conference on Language & Literature organized by the Rashtriya Hindi Academy [RHA] was inaugurated at a local hotel here in the capital today. The conference will conclude on 29 October.
Addressing the gathering today, HRDD Minister, NK Pradhan, who chaired the inaugural function as the chief guest, assured all support for the development of the Hindi language in the state. He also added that Hindi is used quite commonly in the state.
“Hindi as a subject is already part of the curriculum in all schools of Sikkim and in fact, all the Hindi teachers are local”, said the Minister.
During the function, the chief guest accompanied by Gangtok MLA, Dorjee Namgyal released two Hindi books.
The function was also addressed by the Gangtok MLA and president for Rashtriya Hindi Academy, Dr. Swadesh Bharti.
The function was also attended by Official Language In-charge Ministry of Corporation Affairs, RK Tripathi, including members of RHA and other participants.
While talking to NOW!, RK Tripathi [Official Language In-charge Ministry of Corporation], said that this conference is being organized in order to preserve the Hindi language.
President for RHA, Dr. Swadesh Bharti also appealed to the Minister, NK Pradhan to help develop the Hindi language here in Sikkim.
Also in the function, the Best Seal Award was given to Registrar of Companies, West Bengal for the implementation of Hindi language for official use.
