GANGTOK, 27 Oct: Former Legislators’ Federation of Sikkim held a meeting on Saturday to condole the demise of its member Dugo Bhutia, who passed away on 24 October in Delhi. The meeting was chaired by FLFS president, SK Pradhan.
A press release issued by FLFS general secretary, Norzang Lepcha informs that the Late Mr. Bhutia was elected as a member of the SLA from Assam Lingzey from 1975 to 1979 from Sikkim Congress Party and then successfully contested the Assembly election in 1979 on a Prajatantra Congress ticket.
A man of integrity, the Late Mr. Bhutia contributed hugely in the development of Assam Lingzey and Rakdong-Tintek constituencies, the release records.
