GANGTOK, 29 Oct: Twenty nine-year-old Jubanashwa Mishra, hailing from Sonepur, Odisha, will be working as Floor Host at the three outlets of Lounge 31 A Group here through the week. Mishra is touring the country taking up different jobs in the different states of the country as part of the One Week Job India project.
A press release informs that Mishra will be taking up 28 different jobs in all the 28 states of India for one week each to inspire youngsters to choose a profession they really want to do instead of doing something they never wanted to do.
Jubanashwa Mishra left a lucrativeB.Tech and MBA career, to pursue his dreams and inspire other youngsters to do the same.
He started this initiative, working as a Photographer with NDTV E-Commerce division for the state of Haryana. Ever since he has worked in 19 other states working in various capacities ranging from a Tattoo artist in Goa, to a Rafting Trainee in Jammu and Kashmir, to a Mountain Cleaner in Himachal Pradesh, a Cremation Assistant in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a Boat House Driver in Kerala, a Movie Marketing Executive for SPICE, Bollywood, Maharashtra, a Golden Temple Sevak in Amritsar, Punjab, to a Play School Teacher in Hyderabad. The One-Week Job Project was created in 2008 by Canadian resident and recent university graduate, Sean Aiken, who struggled to answer the question, “What should I do with my life?” Determined to discover his passion, he embarked on an epic journey throughout North America working 52 jobs in 52 weeks. Since completing his journey, Sean has published a book and produced a documentary film about the experience. He has also started One Week Job projects in Australia, USA, UK, and India, and frequently speaks at high schools, colleges, and corporations around the world about what he learned.
