GANGTOK, 30 Oct: The State government has enhanced the rate of Dearness Allowance of state government employees and Dearness Relief for state government pensioners from the existing 80% to 90% of the basic pay.
As per a circular issued on 26 October by the Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, the revised rate comes into effect from 01 July 2013. Government employees will be getting arrears for the months of July-October while they will be getting the revised DA from November onwards, it is informed.
The revised rate is applicable to All India Service Officers and Central Government Employees working under the Government of Sikkim on deputation.
The revised DA rates will also be applicable to employees appointed on contract basis and work-charged establishment drawing revised pay in the regular scales of pay of the State government.
