GANGTOK, 29 Oct: A team of Organisation of Musicians and Artists of Sikkim [OMAS] headed by general secretary, Sonam Gyaltsen Bhutia visited the Deorali Mayalmu Sangh, a destitute home, today.
A press release informs that the team presented the home with two dozen blankets. President of the Sangh, Bimla Gurung, overwhelmed with the support, thanked the OMAS team.
Similarly, Nirmal Mangar, one of the active members of the Sangh also expressed gratitude to OMAS and appreciated the efforts of OMAS members for a noble cause.
Marketing head of OMAS, Sapant Pradhan informed that the team is planning to tie up with noted NGOs to garner support for Mayalmu Sangh while the general secretary of OMAS said that the organization intends to continue their support to the Sangh through various possible means.
He also thanked Secretary for Land Revenue and Disaster Management, KS Tobgay, Gilbert Lepcha, Deewakar Rai and the department for giving OMAS a platform on the second anniversary of the 18th September 2011 Earthquake, the release mentions.
He further informed that OMAS is organizing a tribute night to Swar Samrat Narayan Gopal involving 25 to 30 singers in the month of December this year. OMAS has also thanked the press and media for their continued support.
