GANGTOK, 25 June: In continuation of the ParyavanMahotsav, a “10-Minutes to Earth” programme was held at the State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) at Karfectar today.
The program was presided over by Tenzing Denzongpa, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jorethang, a press release informs. Sunil Kr. Mothay, Joint Chief Administrator, SICB, initiated the program by welcoming the officers and staff of the various departments. The program saw enthusiastic participation from Officers, staff and trainees of SICB, staff of SDM Office, Motor Vehicle, Forest, UD & HD, Excise &Abkari, Energy & Power, Commerce & Industries, Gram Vikas Kendra (Jorethang), Commercial Tax,North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP), B-Able, and Truck Driver’s Association of Jorethang.
The officers, staff and In-House trainees (Driver cum Tour Guide Course, Beauty, SPA & Hair Course and Banking & BPO Course) of SICB were also addressed by Tilak Kumar Mukhia, ACF-BAC Jorethang regarding vision and mission of the State Government in observing Paryavaran Mahotsav and provided instructions on how to plant saplings correctly to ensure their survival.
The saplings were provided by the department of Forest, Environment & Wildlife. A total of 150 saplings of various indigenous trees were planted in and around SICB complex.
After completion of 10-minutes to earth program, cleaning of the SICB complex wasdone by the officers, staff and the in-house trainees.
