Gyalshing,
25 June [IPR]: “Ten Minutes to Earth”, a programme to commemorate the Prayavaran Mahotsav, on the theme “Each One Plant One” was observed throughout West
district today. The plantation drives on private and government land holdings
received emphatic participation of the people. Saplings were provided by the
Forest Department through various distribution points designated as “seedling
booths”.

drives was organized at the DAC West premises
followed by a cleanliness drive. Present for the event were DC Tshewang Gyachho, Sr. SP (W) DB Giri,
ADC (W), SDM (HQ), and other HODs of west district along with their staffs.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that
this programme initiated by the Chief Minister for the cause of the Earth was a
unique programme not only in the state and country but also in the entire world.
Further, he informed
that as part of the State Green Mission & Paryavaran Mahotsav, various
activities in relation to the environment like plantation drives, workshops,
rallies, marathon, painting competitions, cleanliness drives, awareness camps and
seminars will be carried out throughout the district till 30 June.
He
appealed to everyone to be a part of it.
A
cleanliness drive was also carried out at West District Zilla Bhawan, Gyalshing
initiated by the DPO (WDZP).
