GANGTOK, 27 June: Casino Mahjong carried out a plantation drive here at the Himalayan Zoological Park, Bulbulley, today. The drive, joined by around 60 staff members of the casino, was led by the Casino Mahjong Managing Director Bikash Chamling accompanied by the General Manager, Sherap Lepcha.
A total of 250 saplings were planted at the zoological park’s 2 hectare spread.
“Since the start of Casino Mahjong, the entire crew here has enthusiastically extended genuine support and dedication towards social causes all over the State and today we begin Casino Mahjong’s contribution towards the environment under the mission of the State government’s Paryavaran Mahotsav. This is our 3rd Anniversary and we, the entire crew of Casino Mahjong, are delighted and fortunate to take part in such an initiative,” the MD stated while addressing the media today during the plantation drive.
On the Casino’s involvement in social and ecological issues, it was informed today that Casino Mahjong MDs – Mr. Chamling and Ugen T Ladakhi – were the first to adopt the state animal “Red Panda” during the “Animal Adoption Program” organized by the Himalayan Zoological Park. They have contributed Rs. 50,000 in two months towards this commitment, it is informed. The adoption program is still underway at the Zoo started recently. The MD also donated around 30 dustbins to the zoo today.
