SAATHI observes Day Against Drug Abuse with appeal to ‘stay clean’

GANGTOK, 26 June: SAATHI [Sikkim Against Addiction and Towards Healthy India] organised a two-hour long programme at Tadong Senior Secondary School auditorium today to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Students from Tadong School, Deorali Girls School, Enchey Senior Secondary School, Tashi Namgyal Sr. Sec School, West Point School and Modern School, a total of 100, attended the event. The programme featured screening of videos on substance and alcohol abuse, distribution of Identity Cards for the Peer Educators and an interactive session with the students. Students from Tadong School also demonstrated a drill on how to save a person suffering from Drug Overdose. The programme concluded with the Peer Educators sharing their experiences with SAATHI and taking a Pledge “Stay Clean, Stay Healthy because we are all SAATHI’s”.
