GANGTOK, 24 June: General Officer Commanding Black Cat Division felicitated Lieutenants Rohit Chamling and Ankit Madan on their being commissioned into the Indian Army and also Cadet Myang Hang Kulung Rai for having successfully graduated from the National Defence Academy and joining Air Force Academy at Hyderabad for further training.
While Lt. Chamling hails from Darjeeling and has been staying in Sikkim for many years, his father, Ranjit Chamling, being a Central Govt employee, Lt. Madan’s father is currently posted as Deputy General Officer Commanding of Black Cat Division.
Cadet Rai hails from Assam Lingzey in East Sikkim and his father, RS Rai, is serving in Income Tax department.
The GOC congratulated the young officers on becoming part of one of the finest organisations of the nation known for its rich traditions of gallantry, professionalism and dedication. He urged the young officers to uphold the ethos of the Armed Forces of ‘Service Before Self’. He also hoped that the youth of Sikkim will emulate their example in joining the Indian Armed Forces, an official press release conveys.
