GANGTOK, 24 June: HRDD East District organized an orientation workshop on Mid Day Meal Web Portal under Green Channel on 23 June.
A press release informs that the main objective of this training was to appraise the school heads about the new mechanism which aims to revamp the system by facilitating smooth implementation of MDM scheme in schools. The Green Channel system seeks to facilitate timely and effective mode of payment of cooking cost, honorarium to cook cum helpers under MDM Scheme.
The Director MP Subba, Director MDM, Dy. Director MDM [HQ], Dy. Director [East], Dy. Director Pakyong, ADs/AEOs from all GVKs of East District attended the program. Principals from 24 senior secondary schools, HMs from secondary schools, JHS and Primary schools along with teachers and in-charges from Monastic and Sanskrit Pathshalas were oriented on the modalities of operating the Green Channel System, the release mentions.
The welcome speech was delivered by Chimi Donkar [Assistant Director, Gangtok GVK] while Pema Thinley [APC, MDM] briefed about the new system and the change in the mode of payment of MDM Bills.
An interactive session was also held to discuss the problems faced by the schools in the implementation of the scheme. In this regard District Mid-Day Meal in-charge, CS Subba assured to support and solve the minor problems faced by the schools within the district level.
Workshop/Orientation programme concluded with vote of thanks given by Kabita Moktan [Deputy Director MDM cell].
