GANGTOK, 23 Nov: A joint meeting by the East District Administration and Non-Governmental Organizations held today decided to celebrate the Badhtey Kadam Campaign and Disability Day in a grand manner to create awareness amongst the masses on 03 December at MG Marg.
The meeting was chaired by the Zilla Adhyaksha [East], Bimal Dawari, and District Collector [East], D Anandan, and was attended by Additional Collector [East] and SDM [East] along with representatives from Social Wefare and Justice Department, Spastic Society of Sikkim, Viklang Sahitya Samiti, NYK, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Helping Hands, TAAS and various privates companies in east district.
In the meeting, the representatives from different organisations placed their suggestions and views to create awareness among general people on disablities through such events. The meeting also decided to organise different programmes at MG Marg on 03 December.
In their addressess, the Zilla Adhyaksha and DC encouraged everyone to come forward to support the cause and spread awareness among the people in Sikkim and world as a whole. They also urged people to contribute to the cause in whatever way they could.
