NAMCHI, 25 Nov: The reformation of committees for the ward and block levels, Cheli Morcha and youth wing of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front at Temi-Namphing constituency began today.
On the first day of the reformation meeting, new committees of the SDF for the ward level, block level, cheli morcha and youth wing were formed at different wards of Temi Gram Panchayat Unit namely Gangchung, Upper Temi, Lower Temi, Aifaltar, Upper Tea Garden and Lower Tea Garden wards.
It may be recalled here that the committees of the ruling party in this constituency was dissolved earlier at the constituency level meeting held at Temi Bazaar.
The reformation meeting was held at the respective wards of Temi GPU under the supervision of Constituency Level Committee (CLC) President, Shiva Kr. Sharma and General Secretary, Das Tamang.
During the meeting, the newly formed committee members were informed about their respective duties and responsibilities in strengthening the party at the grass root level. They were informed that the duty of every party worker was to create awareness among the people with regard to the developmental work being carried out by the SDF government and its dedication towards the betterment of every individual of Sikkim.
Later, General Secretary, Das Tamang informed that as per the resolution passed by the present SDF Government, 50% reservation has been provided to women party workers in this newly formed committee.
Stating that charity begins at home, Mr. Tamang further mentioned that along with the decision to provide 50% reservation in the panchayat elections, the SDF party has introduced similar provisions in its own associations as well, which shows the vision of the Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling. He also informed that this reformation process will continue till 04 Dec.
