GANGTOK, 24 Nov: Army Public School, Gangtok has been conducting various programmes since 19 Nov to observe the Communal Harmony week. On 24 Nov, an all religious meet was held in the school in which representatives of Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Sikh religions presented their views on religious amity, informs a press release.
It was a novel experience for the students to see the various religious leaders on one platform, each one emphatically asserting the necessity of harmony in society which will finally lead to the development of the nation, the release mentions.
Father Felix Baretto of St. Thomas Church, Gangtok, Md Asgar Ali, Imam of Gangtok Mosque, Sub. RK Pandey, Hindu priest and GS Singh, the Sikh priest quoting their respective sacred books, stressed that love and fellow feeling for your brethren is the need of the hour, the release informs.
