GANGTOK, 24 Nov: “AIDS does not spread by touching, hugging, sharing food, sharing clothes or by helping an HIV infected person.” This was one of the messages that went out to the students of Deorali Girls Senior Secondary School, Gangtok, on 24 November as part of the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society’s awareness campaign ‘Red Fest’, informs a press release.
The principal of the school, Pushpalata Sharma said, “The Red Fest was a huge success in my school. The team was very co-operative and the knowledge they gave was very informative. My students learnt a lot of things which they were not aware about HIV and AIDS. I would really be happy to have the Red Fest team come to my school again.”
The Red Fest event had more than 400 students involve directly and indirectly in the competitions, the release mentions.
