Mangthang farmers briefed on organic agricultural production and disease control

GANGTOK, 20 Nov: International Panacea Ltd., Sikkim, organized an awareness programme on agricultural production and disease control under the State Organic Farming Mission for the farmers at Mangthang under Tumin Lingzey GPU on 17 Nov, informs an official press release. 
A demonstration on the treatment of the plant diseases in organic manner was done by the team from International Panacea Ltd. Sikkim consisting of Deepak Dahal, Thakur Prasad Nepal, Laxmi Prasad Acharya, Kamal Dahal and Rita Neopaney.
The chief guest, panchayat secretary, Sanchbir Rai highlighting the motive of the programme informed the farmers about the role of International Panacea Ltd. in improving agricultural produce and also gave away identity cards to the farmers, the release informs. 
Hoshiyar Singh Bashista from IPL, Sikkim equipped the farmers with the details of organic farming and briefed them on the Internal Control System wherein he also appealed to the farmers to help the state achieve the title of Organic State.
He further informed the farmers about the plans of acquiring national market for ginger grown in the state through collaboration with Panacea Food Ltd. This, he informed was to empower the farmers financially and help them establish market at the national level, the release mentions. 
This is the second time that IPL has organized such programme in this village following demand by the farmers while IPL, Sikkim has organized more than 30 such programmes so far, the release further informs. 
The programme was conducted by Sun Kr. Rai and vote of thanks proposed by Thakur Prasad Nepal, both from IPL.
