GANGTOK, 19 Dec: A 5-member Sikkim Table Tennis Association [STTA] team is all set to represent the State at the 75th Cadet & Sub-Junior National Championship to be held at Mulchand Stadium in Ajmer, Rajasthan from 24 to 29 December. The Sikkim team, accompanied by the State TT Coach, Rupesh Lama, is scheduled to leave for the tournament on Friday.
The team comprises of Rojal Lepcha [Namchi SSS], Pravakar Chettri [Tendong School], Prava Limboo [Namchi Girls SSS], Diya Trikhatri [Bahai’ School] and Tenzing Doma [Bahai’ School].
STTA organized a special function for the team today and conveyed best wishes to them for the tournament.
STTA president, CK Basnet, reminded the young paddlers that this prestigious championship was a big opportunity for them to showcase their skills and also learn from others. He further urged them to give their best and return better players from the experience. Mr Basnet informs that the team has been sent with the joint efforts of the STTA and parents.
The function was also addressed by STTA general secretary, Karma Bhutia and joint secretary, Kishor Gazmer of STTA and was also attended by the president, SB Subba and general secretary, Kuber Bhandari of Sikkim Veterans Table Tennis Association.
