GANGTOK, 20 Dec: A 12-member girls basketball team of Eklavya Model Residential School [EMRS], Gangyap in West Sikkim will soon be leaving to participate in the Under-19 CBSE National Basketball Championship.
A press release informs that the team will be escorted by Team Manager Tini Tshechu and Coach, Principal S. Yonzone. The championship will be held at John Milton School in Agra from 23-28 December.
The team, however, is still struggling with some injuries, it is informed.
Team captain Nima Doma informs that the team is in high spirits but adds that the fight is going to be tough since there are a number of junior players of classes VIII and IX in the team. Nevertheless we will give our best, she adds.
The EMRS basketball team has thanked their sponsors for the national tournament - Karma Thinley Namgyal and Ugen Ladakhi.
