GANGTOK, 15 Dec: The Sikkim RTI Forum has alleged that SIMFED has employed a non-Sikkim Subject without either advertising the post or considering a local for it.
In a press release, general secretary of the Sikkim RTI Forum, DK Chhetri, states that as per information received in response to an RTI application, a non-Sikkimese [who possesses only a voter’s ID and not a CoI] has been appointed at a managerial post at SIMFED. He claims that no interview was called for the said post and that the appointee was a petty supplier for SIMFED a few years ago.
“Since Employment Exchange is not implemented in Sikkim all jobs in Government or Semi-Government establishments belong to bonafide Sikkimese,” Mr. Chhetri contends.
On behalf of “educated and qualified Sikkimese”, Sikkim RTI Forum has demanded that that the said person be terminated from the job and a fresh Interview called for the post.
