GANGTOK, 20 Dec: The REDRH Project MIS [management information system] has bagged the e-North East Award under e-governance and citizen services delivery category for bringing transparency and better management. The award was presented during the 4th e-North East Award Summit 2013 held on 13 December at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
A press release informs that the Award Summit focuses on the best ICT practices for development and governance. Nineteen winners from the North East India region whose IT/ICT applications and innovations have impacted the common people were recognized and felicitated during the summit.
The event was hosted by the Information Technology Department of Arunachal Pradesh and North East Development Foundation and was attended by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Nabam Tuki and other respected delegates.
The release informs that the REDRH MIS has been developed in-house by the Department of Information Technology and the Rural Management and Development Department, Government of Sikkim. The REDRH project is funded under the PM’s Special Package with LR&DMD as the nodal agency. Zangpo Gyaltsen [AD-IT in Department of IT] and Alisha Basnet [IT Manager with RM&DD] were the key programmers who developed this application in-house, it is added.
