GANGTOK, 18 Dec: The 19th Winter Adventure course for government school students organized by Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Ecotourism, Chemchey, South Sikkim (IHCAE) concluded today.
A press release informs that the week-long adventure course had started on 12 December and had 47 boys and girls as participants. Students from 8 Senior Secondary Schools of South and West districts took part in this course. OSD (IHCAE) and Everester, Kazi Sherpa was present as the chief guest for the valedictory function held today.
The course included trekking, rock climbing, obstacle course, disaster preparedness class, survival class, sports competition and cooking competition.
Anup Sherpa (Namchi Boys SS School) won Best trainee (Boys) and Cross Country 1st Position (Boys), Prava Tamang (Singtam Sr.Sec School) won Best trainee (Girls), Mon Rupa Basneth (Namthang SS School) won Cross Country 1st Position (Girls), Passang T Lepcha (TNSS School) won Obstacle 1st Position (Boys) and Manisha Kotti (Namthang Sr.Sec School) won Obstacle 1st Position (Girls).
The next batch will be at IHCAE from 20 to 26 December, it is informed.
