GANGTOK, 13 Dec: Chief Convener of Anushuchit Jati Kalyan Sangh, Sikkim, Binay Gazmer, has been conferred the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule National Fellowship Award in the field of social service by the Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi on the occasion of 29th National Conference of Dalit Writers, held in New Delhi on 12 December 2013.
A press release informs that Mr. Gazmer was conferred with this prestigious award in recognition of the services that he has rendered to his community. The award carries a certificate and a gold medal.
President of AJKS, Gopal Mothey, Zilla member, Khamdong, East Sikkim, Bina Lamichaney and JS Darnal from Bardang, East Sikkim were also conferred with Dr. Ambedkar National Fellowship award in recognition of the commendable services rendered by them for the upliftment of Dalits, the downtrodden and oppressed people of the State, it is informed.
