GANGTOK, 18 Dec: The security agencies along with the Indian Army and the security agency of Indo-China Border Trade through Nathula have given clearance for installation of surveillance cameras along the Nathula border.
The proposal was mooted by the State government to the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries for consideration and has now also been approved by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs. The installation of surveillance cameras at Nathula and Sherathang Trade Mart will begin before the next trade season begins, it is informed.
Secretary Commerce and Industries, PT Euthenpa has confirmed that the proposal was approved by the Ministry of Defence and Home Affairs.
