SDF’s student wing rejects SKM appeal

GANGTOK, 15 Dec: Sikkim Democratic Front’s student wing has accused the Sikkim Krantikari Vidyarthi Morch, the SKM’s student wing, of carrying out false propaganda to defame the State and its youth-centric programmes and efforts towards educational reforms. A press release issued by the SDF students’ front secretary, Kabita Subba, contends that the SKM was trying to create confusion among the youth and trying to spread panic among the people.
The release goes on to state that an “appeal” released by the SKM on 12 December “has crossed the limits of falsities and misinformation” in a bid to garner some publicity for the SKM.
The release warns the SKM party not to spread rumors which could spread panic in the society. The release warns that legal action will be initiated to curtail SKM’s “propensity to dabble in rumours”.
The release goes on to state that the CM has consistently displayed love and affection towards the children and has never sidelined their interests. SKM’s claims that the CM has branded the youth as “druggists and rowdies” was false and mischievous, the release adds.
The release also mentions that the SDF party has been working for the protection of the Article 371F and Sikkimese people for the past 20 years and also strongly condemns SKM’s comments on computer teachers, adhoc teachers and other related issues.
