GANGTOK, 12 Nov: Sumbuk Senior Secondary School, South Sikkim, celebrated National Education Day on 11 November.
A press release informs that the day started with a brief introduction to the importance of the day by the headmaster, CT Bhutia. A rally was also taken out by students accompanied by the teachers. The rally started from the school and ended at 9th Mile via GVK Sumbuk.
An elocution competition on the theme, ‘Education in the 21st century’, was also held. Students from classes VIII to X participated in the competition. Daniel Baraily from class IX won the competition followed by Ritika Kapil from class X in second position and Rajana Rai from class IX in third position, the release informs.
