GANGTOK, 15 Nov: In order to makeSikkimese women farmers self-reliant and to add value to the floriculture business, the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), East organized two-day training on Dry Flower Technology on 12-13 November.
The training was organized at SAMETI Hall, ICAR Complex,Tadong with technical support from Horticulture and Cash Crops Development Department, FS & ADD, Govt. of Sikkim.
A press release informs that a total of 20 farmers from East, West and South districts took part in the said training. Among these women farmers many had earlier been taken to Bangalore and Delhi on an exposure tour to learn about Dry Flower technology.
The chief guest and guest of honor for the function were Director, SAMETI, SL Dorjee and Project Director, ATMA, Asha Lama. The resource persons were Addl. Director Floriculture, DK Bhandari, HDO, Tissue Culture Lab, Rachana Gurung and artist Diwaker Lamichaney.
