Meeting discusses shortage in LPG supply

GANGTOK, 13 Nov [IPR]:  The Secretary, Food and CS & CA Department convened a meeting with the Plant Manager, IOCL, Bagey Khola, transporters, LPG distributors and Traffic Police of East district on 01 November to facilitate and clear the market backlog of the distribution of refilled LPG cylinders to consumers.
Due to the breakdown in LPG Plant at Bagey Khola, supply of cylinders has been affected to some extent. Further, there has been a shortage in supply of bulk product from Haldia-port in West Bengal which has affected plant operation. However, normal supply is expected to resume and the backlog shall be cleared during the next two weeks. Further, to avoid inconvenience, consumers are requested to collect the LPG cylinders from their respective distributor only after obtaining prior booking coupons.
