GANGTOK, 15 Nov: The three-day Cherry Tea Tourism Festival - 2013 began today with various events at the Temi Tea estate of Temi Tarku, South Sikkim. Tourism Minister, Bhim Dhungel, who was present on the occasion as the chief guest inaugurated the programme.
The festival is being organized by Temi Tarku Tourism Development Committee (TTTDC) with the support of state Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) and tourism stakeholders of the area. Minister Dhungel was accompanied by area MLA, BS Panth in a colorful function held at Temi Bazaar.
The main objective behind organizing the fest is to attract national and international tourists to the area during this time of the year when cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
